Nadie pone en duda que el turismo es una actividad económica capaz de generar crecimiento y empleo, pero al mismo tiempo todo el mundo admite que no es la panacea, pero mucho menos cualquier turismo y en particular el rural que se ha basado en un modelo que ha sido copiado hasta la saciedad, por lo que hoy se enfrenta a serios desafíos, tanto desde el punto de vista de las políticas como desde las empresas, unas y otras deben adaptarse a los cambios sociales y económicos derivados del nuevo contexto demográfico.
Por estas razones, que han dificultado un diálogo fluido entre turismo y desarrollo, en este trabajo se invita a reflexionar sobre una serie de puntos básicos. En primer lugar, se plantea si es oportuno hacer una evaluación del modelo actual y si es conveniente proponer un nuevo proyecto de turismo. En segundo lugar se hace una puesta a punto del concepto de desarrollo y sus elementos. Inmediatamente se entra a evaluar las políticas turísticas así como las características de las empresas de turismo rural. Todo ello lleva a la conclusión de la necesidad de elaborar un proyecto de turismo rural que conduzca al desarrollo integrado del territorio.
A RURAL TOURISM PROJECT FOR THE LOCAL DEVELOPMENT
Nobody doubts that tourism is an economic activity capable of generating growth and employment, but at the same time the people admit that it is not the only remedy for the development, much less any kind of tourism, rural tourism especially, based on a too much copied model, so that today rural tourism is facing serious challenges, both from the point of view of the policy and from the companies that compose it. The latter must adapt to social and economic changers arising from new demographic context.
For these reasons, which have impeded a fluid dialog between tourism and development; in this work I invite to thinking about a series of basic points. First, ask whether it is opportune to do an evaluation of the tourist current model, and if it is opportune to propose a new project of tourism. Secondly it explains the concept of development and his elements. Immediately later, the tourist policies are evaluated, as well as the characteristics of the companies of rural tourism. Since conclusion we propose the need to elaborate a project of rural tourism that he leads to the integrated development of the territory.
